About Ling
Ling Yu
Creative, accomplished and passionate about her craft, Ling Yu has been a successful hair stylist for over 30 years. She started her career by earning a cosmetology degree in Shenzen, China in 1988. Shortly after graduation, she opened her first salon and managed it for the next 8 years.
In 1996, Ling moved to Minnesota and quickly earned her cosmetology degree from the Central Beauty School in Eagan. Upon graduation, she was hired as a hair stylist at the JCPenney Salon which gave her an introduction to American hair styling. Her successful experience there led her to enroll at Aveda in 2006, where she gained advanced skills in hair styling, hair coloring, facial and skin care. With these new skills in hand, Ling opened up Ling’s Salon in 2007 offering hairstyling, manicures, pedicures and spa treatments for Women and Men.
Today, Ling is still committed to providing the best styling services to her clients. To keep up with the latest styling trends, she annually attends hair shows in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas and continues to take courses on new treatments and techniques at the Aveda Institute. Ling draws inspiration from all these experiences and enjoys sharing it with her all her clientele.

After thinking I could cut my own bangs (which was a very bad idea on my part), the owner was nice enough to fit me in that day and fix my bangs into a nice side-swept style. She only charged me 5 dollars for the fix, and she was really nice to talk to--she didn't make me feel stupid for thinking I could cut my hair after watching a few youtube videos. I'll definitely go back--and it'll be before I try to do any more bang-damage! Nice place and very fair prices.

Always love here because of the quick and good haircut, quick and good! So do not feel confused about why the barber can cut your hair quickly with high quality. In contrast, if you get a slow haircut here, then a problem might come up.

Fabulous service Ling and her assistant provided. She's professional and knew what she was doing. She took her time cutting, highlighting and dying my hair for six hours straight. She cares about her customers. I really like her and her Sunday assistant. They were fabulous. She even shared her father's delicious Chinese dumplings with me. She was also very flexible and git me in the last minute. She stayed overtime working on her hair. I appreciate her and her assistant a lot!
